From the boss
Dear Reader
If you are reading this, and wondering what it would be like to work for Lesters, I thank you for your interest and welcome the opportunity to tell you a bit about the business and the staff it employs. Our staff include the following groups:
- The Fee-generating consultants doing work for clients, generally at client sites. Most of what we do at Head Office is designed to recruit, and retain these fee earners, and to secure instructions from clients. We would love to hear from you if you would like to join us as a consultant. Please contact us here [link to contact us page] if so. Head Office staff fall into three further catagories...
- New Business and Resourcing. This team develops client relationships, and brings on fee generating professionals. The team is collegial without losing the spur of internal competition, and members enjoy the ability to earn good performance rewards without the relentlessness that many remember from earlier jobs in, for example, the City, Recruitment, or media sales. Whatever your background, if you want a new business role that offers a mixture of 'in the office' and 'on the road' sales, and involves dealing with both companies and individuals, then we could be right for you.
- Consultant Support and Accounts. With so many fee generating staff away from the office, we put a great emphasis on providing a supportive Head Office. Our Consultant Support and Accounts team are friendly and hardworking, and enjoy a varied workload spanning various technical and interpersonal disciplines. If you are flexible, people focussed, and able to work to tight deadlines, you could feel at home here.
- Financial Control and Technology. We invest on an ongoing basis in systems improvement, to improve the availability of management data, to automate report preparation, and to reduce the manual input required by our systems. The effect of this investment is that this team spends as much of its time on enhancement projects and project management, as it does on the underlying financial control.
Across the business, we recognise that our staff have many options open to them, and work to ensure that we offer an attractive and competitive career option. A lot of businesses talk about flexible working, but few companies of our size have, as we do, someone working from home in New Zealand who last came into the offices in 2007. We don't offer such terms to new starters from day 1, but we are always open to discuss proposals from those who prove their ability, and can demonstrate that their suggestion will add value to our organisation.
If you have persevered long enough to read the whole page, and believe that you would enjoy working with us, and be able to add to our success, do contact us and send us your CV today.
Yours sincerely
James Dunlop
